TWIRL BOWLS Twirl Bowls is een collectie sculpturale schalen die is gemaakt door te experimenteren met de ambachtelijke techniek van het gips trekken. De traditionele techniek van het gips trekken wordt al eeuwenlang gebruikt om interieurs en exterieurs te verfraaien met gipsen ornamenten. De methode werd gebruikt om op de ouderwetse manier ornamenten te maken. Door het proces toe te passen in een eigentijds ontwerp krijgt de techniek een nieuwe waarde en houdt ze haar bestaansrecht. Door een holle mal te maken en het gips te vervangen voor een acryl composiet ben ik tot een collectie sculpturale schalen gekomen die omkeerbaar zijn. The traditional method of running cornice has been used for centuries to embellish interiors and exteriors with plaster ornaments. Because the method has usually been used to make ornaments, it has become old-fashioned. By using the process to create contemporary objects, the technique will gain a new value so that it is no longer lost in obsolescence. By making a hollow mold and replacing the plaster with an acrylic composite, the bowls are made reversible.
